Glasgow & West
My name is Anthony Carroll, & I'm running to be the next Green Councillor for the Dennistoun Ward this May. I have been working in Community Development in the North East of Glasgow for the past 7 years on a range of poverty-tackling & environmental projects, & have been supporting our current Green Cllr Kim Long in working to find issues to resolve within Dennistoun over the past 5 years.
The Dennistoun Ward has a great community spirit with thriving local business, but has been cut up by big, polluting roads, like the M8. We can make our communities cleaner & safer like in other parts of Glasgow: its the East End's time to be just as well connected with active travel & accessible public transport as the West End or South Side. But we need a Green voice making that case in Council.
We need as much help as possible to make sure we elect a Green Cllr for the East End of Glasgow, & you can help by either helping giving our leaflets, knocking some doors with us, sticking up a poster, or even just telling your friends to Vote Green no.1 on the 5th May!

After working in restaurants and bars for years and dealing with the exploitative nature of the industry, I was left angry, worn-down but determined to make a change in our society. My breaking point was around the independence referendum and only the greens were campaigning for massive societal change, so I joined up.
Since then, I’ve run campaigns, led the youth wing of the greens, (almost) got a degree and fought hard with my trade union. Now, I’m taking this experience and this passion into this election to fight for my community to make Govan a more socially, economically, and environmentally fair place to live.
