After the Mayhem | May Newsletter

It has been an A-MAY-ZING month! With a record number of Young Green Councillors elected at the beginning of the month, a surprising amount of points for the UK Eurovision entry, and school & uni exam season (best of luck by the way pals!). It’s been chaotic - but in a good way - so let’s recap and get ready for June…

GOOD NEWS!
Fast Fashion? No thanks! 👚

News broke this week that the return of Love Island would see a switch in partnership, as islander contestants will access pre-loved eBay wardrobes, over the usual fast fashion partners. Even super mainstream reality television shows are now recognising the importance of promoting slow fashion! A great step in the sustainable direction. You can read more about this here, and also take a look at #v-gang on Slack, where we were recently chatting about sustainable clothing options, and have plenty other similar conversations!

(submitted by Betty Colburn - thank you!)

We are now 41% through 2022 - time really does fly when you’re having fun and being busy! Here’s to a great June and we’ll be in touch soon - don’t be a stranger, join the #blether on Slack in the meantime! 😊
