It’s A Deal! | August Newsletter

It’s been a historic month for Green Politics!

August was busy with the Cooperation Agreement between The Scottish Government and The Green Group, the 40th anniversary of NASA’S Hansen et al. paper on Climate Impact, and the announcement that Queen Liz will be at COP26 (even though she asked to be exempt from a new green energy rule).

But that’s not all! Keep reading to catch up on the latest and find out what’s in store…

GOOD NEWS
It’s A Deal!

Scottish Green Party members voted to approve a cooperation with the Scottish Government to build a greener, fairer, independent Scotland! There are lots of great things this deal will see, but here are just a few of our favourite shared policies:

  • A Just Transition from fossil fuels to renewables

  • Investments in Active Travel

  • Tenants Rights and Rent controls

  • Gender Recognition Act and Trans Healthcare reform

  • Banning conversion therapy

  • An independence referendum during this parliament

  • Working to re-join the European Union

Have a lovely September! Make sure to dig out your favourite jumper as the 22nd of September will officially see us into Autumn 🍁 Until then…

Be yourself and stay safe 💚
