SUMMER CAMP
Taytos & Tatties: A Celtic Reunion

🏕️ This September we’re teaming up with our Irish friends from the Young Greens | Òige Ghlas for a week-long, action-packed summer camp in the Highlands! 

WHERE? Gulabin Lodge, Spittal of Glenshee, Scottish Highlands

WHEN? Sunday 5th - Saturday 11th September 2021

WHO? 24-limited spaces for Over-18’s (12 for women, 12 for all genders)

Tickets will go live at 3PM THIS SUNDAY (1st August) so be ready with your £10 deposit and keep an eye on our Twitter (@scotyounggreens) for the registration link…

What we’ve been doing

There are lots of things we’ve been up to this month. Here are some highlights to get you feeling all fuzzy inside:

⚠️ We rebranded! Our shiny new logo is live. The distinctive thistle leaves encapsulate our youth and edginess, don’t ya think?

🎉 14 Young Green candidates stood in the Scottish Green Party Internal Elections, and 12 were elected to committee roles! #Represent

🍕🍉 We publicly apologised to Italy for deep-frying their pizzas ahead of the EURO2020 Final, and spread the word about Eco-Socialism and the Watermelon emoji.

Shout-outs for seriously fantastic folks

This is the feature in our newsletter where we recognise amazing people for the great things they get up to. Dear reader, July has been impressive!

GOOD NEWS
Journeys to Joy this July

This month saw the announcement of Free Bus Travel for Under-22’s. You might be able to travel free-of-charge very soon, ̶w̶i̶t̶h̶ ̶U̶n̶d̶e̶r̶-̶1̶9̶’̶s̶ ̶r̶i̶d̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶f̶o̶r̶ ̶f̶r̶e̶e̶ ̶a̶s̶ ̶o̶f̶ ̶A̶u̶g̶u̶s̶t̶ *, and Under-22’s stepping on board in January 2022 🚍

Subject to Parliamentary approval of the extension, around 930,000 young people will benefit from the new scheme, which will embed more sustainable travel behaviours from a young age and help to meet our target of net zero emissions by 2045.
